• Installed and started the server, on this or some other Mac.
• Installed the client sofware on this machine.
• Defined a connection to the server using ConnectionSetup.
Then you may drag the 'Telephone & Tabler' folder to your harddrive. If you do not have a PowerPC, delete the 'Tabler (PPC)' application (don't forget to empty the trash).
Now double-click the document called 'Click Me!'. Tabler will start, and present a login window. Login as user 'administrator' and leave the password blank.
USING THE TELEPHONE APPLICATION:
The tabler application has three windows:
Departments - used to display and edit department names.
Number Types - used to display and edit telephone number types (e.g Home number, Work number, etc.)
Numbers - used to list and edit the telephone numbers.
All windows function in much the same way. The 4 buttons at the top allow you to select, insert, update and delete entries in the database.
The top-left popup allows you to select a column to be edited. Select a row in the list box. After you have modified the data, press the 'Update' button.
In the Numbers window you may limit the data selected. Using the top-right popup, indicate that a column should 'equal' or 'contain' the value in the text field. Press the 'Select' button.
